Naive Art

By Simone (above)

By Karyn (above)

It was the first time we heard about Naive Art in December 2010.... Well, we are not professional artist nor we are formally trained, so we do not know all the 'technical terms'. I was happy as Naive Art is art painted innocently or what they called child-like painting. So, we can kind of anyhow draw and paint! (I thought)

Simone and I decided to take part in the National Art competition for the Chingay Celebration 2011. Well, we met 205 strong competitors. We did not win but we were happy that we were able to finish drawing and painting our art in 1 day. The piece is 0.75m X 1.1m each. I felt like my bones were breaking after I completed the painting. Our tables were just too small and we painted on the floor.

We are also happy that the paintings were displayed and thousands of people got to view them.
